From Chaos to Clarity
"Made navigating what Is a minefield possible"
"After many years of unhappiness and struggle at primary and now secondary school, my grandson was finally given a diagnosis of ADHD. My daughter had no idea how to go about obtaining funding to assist with the cost of additional activities, tutoring and other things that might make his life easier and assist him to access his learning with more success.
Jemma was recommended to her, the two spoke at length and a decision was made to apply for DLA benefit. Again my daughter had no idea how to progress and Jemma’s advice and assistance was invaluable. She spoke with my grandson at length and was able to gain an accurate understanding of the difficulties he was experiencing and how was he was feeling, both emotionally and mentally. Using this knowledge she then aided and guided my daughter, who was feeling extremely overwhelmed at this stage, in the completion of the application form.
As a family we are very grateful to Jemma, particularly as there had been no help or guidance from the school, despite his diagnosis. She made navigating what Is a minefield possible and we would have no hesitation in doing for others what some-one else did for us and recommending Jemma."
"Knowledge, Empathy & Dedication"
"I am normally fine with big forms, but the DLA application is not only a huge amount of paperwork, it’s also so incredibly emotional, and I’d been putting it off for months. Jemma and Louise truly understand what it means to be a family adjusting to life with a child with additional needs. With their knowledge, empathy, and dedication, we were finally able to plough through it and present our case in the strongest, clearest, and most honest way, while also getting into a much better headspace as a family."
"A partner in the journey to better understand my own brain,"
"In recent years I came to question why life seemed to be more hectic and disorderly than was necessary as I juggled the overwhelming challenges of work and life. After waiting for over 2 years to get an NHS diagnosis to confirm my long held suspicion that I was ADHD brained I was told my local NHS ADHD programme had been cut, leaving me feeling lost and quite despairing about what this meant for my future.
Jemma's coaching, in just 6 sessions so far, was transformational for me. As a logic-minded person who has never had any forms of coaching, therapy or counselling I had my guard up about what coaching would involve- indeed I still sought confirmation as to if I really did have ADHD at all. Her guidance provided the expertise that brought me to the self-realisation that I really do have ADHD but that it doesn't have to hang over me or be my master - I can tame it and can cast aside the feelings of guilt or shame I had had previously.
Jemma's calm and patient manner, coupled with an astute ability to explain how my work and life habits have been channeled through my ADHD, allowed me to make peace with the fact I am neurodivergent. Even in this short time I have come to judge myself less harshly and feel a new positivity about how I can work with, not against, my own brain. I feel optimistic that I can work and live more efficiently and happily. Plus we have been able to have a few laughs and heart-to-hearts on the way in our enjoyable and impactful sessions.
My main goal from Jemma's sessions was to improve the way I function in my work and the exercises and strategies that she taught me will absolutely help me with that. What I hadn't realised was that her coaching has provided tools which will help me in many other aspects of my life too. I look forward to continuing my coaching with Jemma and furthering my rapid progress.
I think what has been most valuable about this coaching is I felt like Jemma was a partner in the journey to better understand my own brain, guiding me along yet I always felt I was given agency about the speed and direction of travel. This has allowed me to feel a huge sense of accomplishment at my progress."
